Welcome to the website of the Protestant Primary School De Marke!
De Marke is a primary school in Tubbergen.
Tubbergen is a village with about 20.000 inhabitants. It has already existed for over 700 years. It is situated about 200 kilometres east of our capital Amsterdam, at some five kilometres of the German border.

World-famous church-windows are to be found in the Pancratius basilica in Tubbergen Made by five generations from the Nicolas family. In the neighbourhood of Tubbergen there are many recreational possibilities, among which cycling and walking.

There are about 130 pupils at our school, in the age of four to twelve inclusive. Our school is a development oriented school. We derive this name from a movement within education which calls itself “basic development”.
Our school was built in 1984 and the architects were Ley and Kappelhof. It is notable that there are hardly any right angles to be seen in the building, so that, as a whole, it’s got a playful character and is never boring.

De Marke forms part of a federation of 10 schools in the municipality of Tubbergen . Every school has a computer network with about 450 computers connected to it, altogether.
Since February 2002 our school has got the disposal of a computer network. Surfing on the internet is possible from every classroom. The computers are used in support of our education.
As a schoolteam we “make”, the daily education, together with the children.
Therefore cooperation, deliberation, atmosphere and tuning are important conditions to us for working in and around the school.
